Elevate are recruiting a **Consumer Credit Lawyer**with 5+ years PQE for a global telecoms company on an initial 12-month (flexible) contract.

The successful candidate will be responsible for advising the Consumer business on all FCA regulated products and propositions. They will provide in-depth legal advice as well as perfecting the Consumer loan/product/service terms.

**Specifically, you will:**

- Advise and instruct senior stakeholders in the Consumer division about regulated FCA products.
- Manage and improve internal relationships, including those with peers and other team members in the Marketing, Digital, Consumer legal, Group legal and Regulatory Affairs teams.
- Have responsibility for ensuring that the Consumer division understands compliance requirements with relevant law and regulation. You will provide clear and concise advice and risk-based reports to senior stakeholders to facilitate decision making.
- Draft and review legally enforceable consumer credit documentation.
- Provide a pro-active response to current and future financial services regulations, ensuring the business is prepared and advised of changes to compliance requirements.
- Influence and drive the strategic approach taken in your area and more widely across the Consumer division.
- Advise and inform all members of the Legal team on contractual issues relating to regulated consumer credit.
- Ensure the Legal Director and team's Principal Lawyers are fully informed on key legal risks and opportunities and all other relevant strategic matters.

- Can influence and deliver strategically important projects in a corporation.
- Have the confidence to question and influence stakeholder's decisions if necessary.
- Can provide practical, pragmatic, commercial and risk-aware advice to all stakeholders and management.
- Can lead and inspire junior team members.

**Skills for success:**

- Proven experience as a UK (or equivalent) qualified solicitor.
- Excellent working knowledge of the consumer credit industry.
- An understanding of the telecoms industry.
- Excellent drafting, communication, stakeholder management, organisation, influencing and persuading skills.
- Strong team player.


- Technical lawyer with extensive in-house experience and knowledge of consumer credit and related regulation.
- Experience advising companies in the telecoms sector; wider experience of other financial services regulation, including payments and insurance would all be advantageous.


- Qualified Lawyer in the UK.
