Overview of the role-

They are looking for a packaging retoucher or a repro operator who is willing to undergo training to become a packaging retoucher.

You will contribute to the performance of our Group's production studio through the delivery of high-quality colour accurate image retouching and print technical support to the packaging team, working on a wide range of high-profile retail and brand clients.

Knowledge / Experience / Skills-

Repro experience within packaging willing to be trained up or colour retouching experience in the food packaging sector
A good understanding of print and its technicalities.
Experience of GMG software (FlexoProof) and printer profiling (Profile Editor) would be beneficial
Experience of Packaging Artwork would be beneficial
Colour management skills
Experience within packagingYou will be able to demonstrate-

Good attention to detail
A sound knowledge of all print and process (litho/flexo in particular) requirements to be able to accurately predict print results across the various printing processes
Good understanding of colour, colour theory and colour profiling
High level competency in photo montaging and manipulation
A good sense of layout, balance and how to display information
Strong computer skills in required production software (Photoshop and Illustrator CC15-CC18)
That you have good planning and organizational skills
That you work well under pressure in order to meet tight deadlines
Adaptability and flexibility
Enthusiasm, initiative and ability to work individually and as part of a Team

Key Responsibilities-

To be flexible in line with the demands placed on the business to ensure (OTIF) delivery to clients in accordance with SLA's
To review supplied images and make colour decisions regarding the best separation technique for any given job
To prepare images for given print process (litho/flexo/Gravure in the main)
To ensure that images are saved in accordance with company naming conventions and standards
To montage and manipulate images as per brief to deliver a realistic, believable result
To accurately colour match digital images to product samples supplied
To output scatter proofs as required in order to validate image development work
To generate repro ready, error free final artwork, in accordance with internal guidelines for artwork creation (SOP's) whilst respecting brand guidelines and client's requirements
To keep line management informed of job progress and highlight any that are at risk of running late
To use virtual proofing to ensure all work conforms to customer and technical requirements
To support the Group, Print Technical Team with the building of GMG printer profiles in accordance with SOP's
To support the Studio with GMG software maintenance and printer calibration in accordance with SOP's for the department
To support the Packaging Team with artwork, build when time allows.
To carry out self-checks on work produced
To support the business in other areas as may be required from time to time
