Julian House and BCHA are excited to be recruiting for the winter night shelter, Safesleep, based in central Exeter. Building on the success of last year, Safesleep offers accommodation and support to vulnerable homeless men and women 7 days a week from 01st October 2019 to 31st March 2020. The service is lifesaving for many who would otherwise be rough sleeping.

You will be responsible for the set up and delivery of Safesleep with a fantastic team of staff and volunteers to manage and local agency partnership support. You will be working directly with some of the most vulnerable people in Exeter and our partners, to provide rapid assessment and interventions which enable a swift move into more appropriate accommodation.

As you will be engaging regularly with rough sleepers you will require a highly developed understanding of the needs of vulnerable clients and the past trauma experienced by many; together with the ability to lead a team of staff and volunteers to ensure the best service possible is received by rough sleepers. Experience of Housing Management, Universal Credit and the benefits system is desirable. A willingness to be on-call for the project on a monthly basis, for an enhanced payment in addition to salary is essential.

This post requires an Enhanced DBS check prior to commencement in role.
