Peabody has an exciting opportunity for a Building Safety Manager to join our team in London. You will join us on a full time permanent basis and in return, you will receive a salary of £39,718 - £55,000 per annum. The Building Safety Manager role: Peabody is a large, diverse organisation, employing over 3000 people. This is a challenging role taking into account the recent and further upcoming changes within the building safety sector. The role requires someone with experience of specifying and inspecting works with regards to fire safety, in all buildings controlled by Peabody especially those designated high risk. This experience should have been gained within the building and maintenance sector, and be confirmed with qualifications and membership of a trade body, knowledge of asbestos and legionella regulations is also a pre-requisite. Key duties of our Building Safety Manager: - Effectively and proactively lead, manage and motivate the team ensuring that there is a culture of high performance, strong engagement and a commitment to continual improvement. - Establish and implement effective working arrangements & practices to ensure a consistent level of service delivery in line with the Peabody business plan. - Monitor and review the internal and external environment to ensure compliance and best practice are adhered to. - Prepare, monitor and deliver individual and team targets/budgets in line with the Peabody business plan. - Ensure the provision of excellent customer service and experience to all stakeholders in order to maximise customer satisfaction. - Externally represent and promote Peabody effectively by creating a consistent, professional and positive image. - Lead on safety matters in all meetings internally and externally, representing the team internally and Peabody externally. - Follow Peabody Health and Safety policies and procedures to ensure, as far as is practicable, your own safety and that of others in the workplace. You may be required to undertake specific Health and Safety roles such as Fire Warden or First Aider as part of your duties. What we're looking for in our Building Safety Manager : - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Proven time management and prioritization skills. - Proven experience and ability to deliver excellent customer care and valuing diversity. - Extensive experience and training in Microsoft Office, Northgate and housing management programmes. - Proven ability to be able to carry out full type 4 Fire Risk Assessments. - Understanding of protocol, building safety information and how these can be combined in a safety file. - Previous experience within social housing in a similar role. - NEBOSH fire or equivalent - Membership of a professional body (IFE, FPA, IFSM) - Building trade background an advantage.
