An excellent opportunity is available for an Intermediate to "stand alone" level Project Planner (construction), to join a developing site team at the start of a very interesting major project in the Leicester area. The position will be to join a leading main contractor, where the role will be site based to support the long terms needs of the scheme.

The role will report directly to the Planning Manager and you will have responsibility and involvement in the day to day management of site programme which is already established.

This position will suit those who already have practical project planning experience within a construction environment and are looking to join a main contractor and gain exposure to larger more complexed jobs with more autonomy. The role will also provide further development opportunity and will be supported by a strong and experienced site delivery team.

The key role responsibilities will involve;
  • Progress monitoring, analysis and reporting against established project baselines.
  • Development of information release programmes and schedules.
  • Short-term construction planning including liaison with supply chain/design team as appropriate.
  • Progress monitoring & review.
  • Recognise "Early Warnings" for potential delay and assist in mitigation strategies.

To be considered for the role you should fit the following spec;
  • Be qualified to Degree or HNC in Construction.
  • Have had some exposure / track record operating in a project planning role within a construction related environment either with a established regional contractor or tier 1 main contractor.
  • Be comfortable communicating at all levels, with the ability to work independently during site visits & reporting.
  • Have a strong work ethic and be open to further development and training as required.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence as there will be some site visits.
  • Hold strong IT skill.
