Venesky-Brown's client, a public sector organisation based in Edinburgh, are currently looking to recruit an Information Risk Manager for an initial 6 month contract on a rate of £400-450/day (inside of IR35).

Responsibilities:

• Lead on ensuring that information risk management is embedded into the planning and delivery of projects.
• Provide specialist information risk advice and act as a contact and escalation point including the analysis and modelling of information and privacy risks.
• Provide the Information Asset owner with comprehensive information on Information Risks and the confidence that they are being managed appropriately.
• Lead on the development Information Risk guidance across the programme in line with best practice and statutory requirements.
• Provide practical support to help ensure Information Risk is appropriately represented and understood across the programme.
• Improve and help maintain the Programme Information Risk Log including accurate recording, regular review including the monitoring of Information Risk mitigation.
• Support the preparation of the inputs and outputs of the Consolidated Risk Board, the Census Security Working Group and the (UK wide) Tripartite Working Group.
• Support the production of Business and Data Protection Impact Assessments.
• Lead on the development and delivery of Information Risk and Security training for colleagues.

Requirements:

• Extensive experience of working with Information Risk, risk analysis, operating risk management processes and tools, and knowledge of relevant information security management system standards (e.g. ISO27000 family).
• Experience of Attack Tree risk assessment is desirable.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills with an ability to present ideas and messages in a clear, concise and positive way.
• Strong interpersonal and engagement skills with proven experience of building and managing relationships with both business and technical colleagues, and of building and developing capability.
• Ability to collate and analyse complex information to draw out recommendations or key messages and inform decision making.
