Venesky-Brown's client, a public sector organisation are currently looking to recruit a Product Coach in Edinburgh for an initial 6 month contract on a rate of c.£700-800/day (inside of IR35).

Responsibilities:

• Work across community of 18 affiliated to 7 business areas to ensure good practice, communication and collaboration across these areas
• Work with colleagues with a range of experience and skills from senior and highly experienced product leaders to newly appointed product people
• Build a productive relationship with the agile coach, UX and BA communities at the organisation, with agile team leads appointed to each development team
• Help to create an open and trust based environment, which enables a focus on delivery and facilitates continuous improvement
• Assess the culture of the product community and the delivery processes in place to identify improvements and facilitate these improvements with the right type of support.
• Showcase relevant tools and techniques specific to product such as prioritisation and market insight techniques
• Engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
• Develop clear lines of escalation, in agreement with senior managers
• Ensure any stakeholder can easily find out an accurate and current product status, without disruption to delivery
• Work effectively with other suppliers, departments and agencies
• Equip staff with the ability to coach others

Requirements:

• Deep understanding and the ability to articulate to various audiences what makes a good product from a design, technology and market perspective
• Coached multiple product teams and be experienced in delivering products and services
• Understanding of different agile and lean approaches and supporting context, such as behaviours, governance, process and culture
• Evidence of embedding agile tools and techniques and be able to use the most relevant tools and techniques as needed
• Broad knowledge and understanding of agile software development and the enablers required to cultivate an agile organisation is essential.
• Understanding of agile governance for service design
• An excellent understanding of good digital service delivery design
• Experience of defining appropriate portfolio and product structures in the context of digital services delivery
• Broad experience of different industries, private and public, transactional digital services, redefining customer interaction and case studies of what good looks like
• Ability to showcase relevant tools and techniques, such as coaching, advising, workshops and mentoring
• Ability to work in environments that are undergoing complex change, working in an iterative manner, evolving conversations and understanding how far to challenge and when
• Experience of coaching, developing and delivering training in government
