Position: Backend Web Developer
Location: Kettering
Job type: Full Time, Permanent
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Salary: £30,000 to £40,000 per annum

About the role:

Working closely with the Website Manager, Backend Web Developer & Website Designer / Frontend developer it will be your role to develop and maintain customer facing websites and custom tools in line with NAH digital marketing strategy.

You will work in collaboration with the small marketing team within NAH, delivering a cohesive overall marketing strategy, contributing to the development and delivery of the marketing strategy and planning.

Responsibilities:

- Architect and develop solutions that enable first class desktop and mobile user experiences.
- Development of new site features to improve functionality and / or useability.
- Regular site updates to improve security & stability.
- Works with the marketing team to understand requirements for change and development.
- Maintain and manage a cloud based infrastructure for sites.
- Build, modify & maintain API's to enable system integration.
- Work closely with the IT team to integrate digital journeys with line of business systems e.g. legal processing platform / CRM.
- Operates within defined development and testing methodologies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical website incidents and problems.

About you:

- Website development with fluency in the following coding / toolsets: Linux, PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SASS, GIT, SOAP / REST APIs, XML, HTTP, WordPress, work with custom themes, create custom plugins, RDBMS, MySQL, MS SQL.
- Test methodologies e.g. Unit testing, Functional testing, V model.
- Experience of working within Agile and Structured projects.
- Server / Environment configuration including on prem and cloud service providers.
- Google Tag Manager.
- Graphics knowledge & skills desirable.
- Image optimisations, compressions, SVGs etc.
- Understanding & experience with Search Engine Marketing (SEM) and Search Engine Optimisation (SEO).
- Experience with website analysis using a variety of analytic tools including Google Analytics / 360 as well as internal reporting tools.
- Experience working with CMS and building / administering content in CMS environments.
- Methodical and thorough in approach.

- Highly commercial and able to work confidently with data and analytics tools.
- Outstanding ability to think creatively, to identify and resolve problems.
