A fantastic opportunity to join one of our leading health and beauty clients with great household brands as their new National Account Manager looking after major customers across their Discount channel. This is a brilliant career opportunity for someone with a successful track record of looking after national customers, either directly with the discount channel or with H&B experience looking for their next challenge.

Client Details

My client is one of the fastest growing UK based FMCG companies, operating primarily within the health and beauty space.


The principal accountabilities of the National Account Manager will be:-
  • build strong relationships within the channel, continuing to win and develop distribution in order to grow sales
  • network across the relevant customers and trade accounts developing key contacts to help grow
  • take responsibility for the P&L for each of the key customers within the channel
  • develop account business plans
  • make things happen within the channel - plan, prepare and be creative and passionate
  • ensure accuracy of forecasting for relevant accounts and provide regular updates on results
  • keep all internal trackers and documents updated e.g. promotional calendars, Epos, Distribution matrix, range review tracker etc
  • gain a high level of understanding of the accounts systems and processes
  • sell in and launch NPD into the key customers
  • completion of monthly sales report for accounts
  • plus additional associated and ad hoc responsibilities as required by the business and customers


The successful candidate for the National Account Manager role will have the following key attributes:-
  • have excellent commercial and account management skills
  • proven success in gaining distribution, negotiating prime display sites, profitable promotional plans and agreed account P&Ls
  • success in building string relationships
  • strong organisational and presentation skills
  • positive and tenacious approach to your work, full of energy and drive
  • effective communication skills with the ability to manage up and down
  • experience with national accounts, ideally in the discount channel as well as other experience and / or health and beauty experience
  • relevant knowledge of the UK H&B market and the OTC environment
  • educated to degree level or similar
  • full driving license and commutable to Staines in West London
  • able to travel extensively across the UK as part of the role

Job Offer

Between £40,000 and £50,000 basic salary per annum depending on experience, £7,000 per annum car allowance, annual bonus based on achieving the relevant targets, pension scheme, healthcare scheme, 25 days holiday plus other benefits.
