A growing company is seeking a 1st Line IT Helpdesk Technician to join its team based in Shoreham-By-Sea. The role requires someone with a basic knowledge of IT who can resolve basic user issues. The company is an MSP and will consider candidates outside of this area. The established company is an award-winning employer with a long history on providing excellent customer service and technical solutions for over 20 years. As a 1st Line IT Technician your duties will include: Ensuring all support calls are logged, categorised and documented in order to ensure that the best possible service is provided to its ; Answering calls at a 1st line level. Completing password resets. Creating and editing users. Communicating and documenting information such as procedure writing and service reporting. End user technical support, troubleshooting and root cause analysis. Ensuring support calls are managed to at least service level expectation. To be a successful 1st Line IT Technician you will have the following skills and experience: Experience in coordinating IT support for end users, preferably commercial customers. Good customer awareness, ability to manage customer expectations. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Effective communication skills and style, able to explain complex issues to non-technical users. Keen interest in technology and innovation A good understanding of service support best practices Previous experience in a similar Technician position. Ideally, worked for a computer dealer / reseller. A sound, basic understanding of related terminology, including all Windows Server and workstation products as well as networking technologies. Experience with installing and supporting Windows desktop operating systems and in configuring wireless networks and technologies. A good understanding of the Microsoft Office suite is essential. Possess a willingness to learn and co-operate as part of a team. Have confidence working in a busy environment. Excellent telephone manner is required along with friendly customer service skills, A logical approach to problem solving coupled with common sense. Good communication, literacy and organisational skills. Punctuality, staff must be ready to work by their allotted time and willing to be flexible with their working arrangements.
