Fresh Recruits have a rare opportunity on behalf of our client in Bournemouth who are on the lookout for a Cross Channel Finance Manager.

Overall Purpose:

The role has responsibility for providing commercial insight, analysis and reporting to both the Retail and Ecommerce team, acting as a Business Partner to the Retail Director and the Customer Director.

You will play a key part in strategic projects impacting on the future sales growth of the business.

In this position, you will be a key member of the Finance team, driving improvements in the quality, timeliness and insight provided from weekly and monthly management reporting, as well as budgeting and forecasting.

The role will require some travel to stores and the Distribution Centre with an expected 3-4 days a month out of the office.

  • Business Partnering of the Retail and Ecommerce teams, providing commercial analysis support as and when required on underlying trends, projects, risks and opportunities and other ad-hoc requests.
  • Reporting (Weekly/Monthly)
    o Prepare daily, weekly and monthly performance reports for Stores and Ecommerce, analyse data and highlight risks and opportunities to the business to ensure appropriate action is taken including reviewing key operational initiatives.
    o Oversee weekly production of cost reports for D.C. Stores and Ecommerce as well as supporting analysis to provide insight and identify any future risks and opportunities that could impact the cost or operational position, ensuring that any subsequent actions are implemented on a timely basis.
  • Management Accounts responsibility for Ecommerce and Distribution with full analysis for month end board pack and slides, ensuring that all variances to forecast are fully explained and commercially justified.
  • Shrinkage - Work alongside the Finance team and the Loss Prevention manger to develop and enhance current shrink reporting, championing process change across the business and developing data insight into the underlying trends. A key focus of this role will be to reduce shrinkage costs year on year and ensure risks / opportunities are flagged on a timely basis.
  • Budgeting & forecasting - work with the Head of Commercial Finance, Trading, Retail and Supply Chain teams to translate commercial plans into robust weekly sales, margin and cost plans which will then be used to manage and monitor performance.
  • Data Integrity - continually review data used to ensure consistency across all reporting. Manage communications as required to ensure a consistent understanding of the data and its uses.
  • Process Improvements - proactively review all tasks on an ongoing basis to drive process improvements which will streamline and simplify reporting requirements. Ensure that any process improvements are implemented in a controlled way such that the full impact of process change is fully understood and managed.
  • Additional Responsibilities - Any other duties as required by the company.

  • Graduate calibre preferably with an accountancy qualification, with a high level of exposure to retail and ecommerce operations
  • Retail sector experience a plus.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office with emphasis on Excel and Access.
  • Experience of Business Objects, Targit analytical suite and Navision an advantage but not essential.
  • Proven track record of achievement and delivery. Must be someone who is driven by results, commercially successful and experienced in contributing through collaboration with all other functions, with the aim of continuously improving performance.
