The Role
We're recruiting for an experienced and highly motivated Management Account to join our team on a full time basis in our offices in Manchester. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Management Accountant to continue their career in a rewarding working environment.

Being a key member of the Finance team, this role will be responsible for the production and oversight of the central and UK management accounts.
The key duties include; the preparation and posting of journals, investigating anomalies & fixing them where necessary, account reconciliations and articulating P&L variances through detailed analysis.
Being primarily cost focused, this role will require somebody who has a good working knowledge of cost accounting. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced organisation, shows initiative and an ability to identify areas of process improvements.

Responsibilities in the role will include:

• Periodic P&L results - you'll be required to create and post periodic journals, ensure a timely and accurate result is produced and supported by the relevant financial controls (including reconciliations)
• Variance analysis - Helping the team understand what has moved versus expectation and more importantly "Why?"
• Reporting - Providing accurate data and insight into the reporting process
• Cost Budgeting and reforecasting - supporting the business partners with the production of the quarterly reforecasts and annual budget cycles

To be successful in this role you'll have experience of the following:

• Be studying towards a professional qualification (CIMA/ACCA/ACA)
• Advanced ability in MS Excel
• Strong attention to detail
• Be a problem-solver, inquisitive and able to work based on own initiative
• Strong communicator
• Good working knowledge of financial accounting systems is desirable
• Confident to work in a fast-paced commercial environment
