City & Capital Headhunters are currently representing a highly respected chartered independent financial advisory firm who have retained our services in order to appoint an experienced and suitably qualified Financial Adviser to their growing team. With offices in the North East and a strong northern brand our client is achieving excellent growth, with exciting plans to follow.

Within the role you will be expected to work closely with existing and new clients to understand their financial circumstances, current provisions and future aims. You will be supported by a highly experienced and dedicated administration & paraplanning function to allow you to focus on relationships and portfolio growth. You will analyse information and prepare plans best suited to their individual requirements. You will undertake regular reviews, redesigning financial strategies where required and assist clients in making informed decisions, in all cases.

In addition you will actively work to increase the brand presence & commercial performance within the region, through strategic relationships with business partners, such as accountants, solicitors and via client referrals. You will work towards an exemplary record in respect of regulatory requirements and performance standards, identifying CPD needs and opportunities to drive personal development and growth.

You will be expected to on-board your own clients and may inherit a small client bank as part of this role, though this would be determined and agreed on a case by case basis with the client. Options are open to suit all parties here.

The ideal individual will demonstrate a minimum level 4 qualification in financial planning. As the firm is chartered it is expected that the ideal individual will be well placed and motivated to achieve chartered status whilst employed within the role, if not currently held. Our client typically services HNW individuals & business owners.

The ideal individual will clearly demonstrate a proven track record of success as a Financial Adviser in the UK and will have a detailed knowledge of the FCA and the financial services industry. Excellent communication and organisation skills are a must and the ability to retain & explain complex information clearly and concisely is imperative. Excellent negotiation and influencing skills are also highly sought after for this position.

You will be able to work from our client's offices in the North-East & will be expected to:
  • Service existing clients
  • Identify and on-board new relationships/commercial opportunities via business development
  • Keep on top of market news and legislation to maximise on opportunities for growth
  • Attain and maintain competent adviser status

Quantifiable skills & experience of the ideal individual include:
  • Level 4 qualification or above, willingness to work towards chartered status (if required) within role
  • Compliance focussed
  • Commercially minded, astute and excellent networking skills
  • Highly organised & confident in managing own diary/pipeline to time manage key requirements accordingly
  • Empathetic and relationship focussed - quick to understand the needs of the consumer
