The Role

The role of Pension Administrator is to work within the Ipswich Pensions administration team servicing both member and client queries specifically:
  • Communicate effectively with members/clients by email/post/telephone, acknowledging that each recipient may have a different level of understanding. Record each enquiry as it occurs
  • Accurately perform individual member calculations (retirements, leavers, transfers, divorce settlements, deaths)
  • Monitor own workflow to ensure that service levels are achieved and recorded on Service Central
  • Assist with monthly contribution processing as required
  • International Pension Scheme contribution processing
  • Ensure invoices received are processed promptly via Accounts Payable
  • Continuously seek to identify areas where the service to clients/members could be improved and communicate to the Senior Administrator / Pension & Benefits Manager
  • Recognise and escalate potential problem and potential complaint cases
  • Ensure complaints procedure is adhered to and that all complaints are immediately notified to Senior Administrator
  • Seek clarification where errors are made
  • Assist the wider team in more complex / project work (e.g. annual benefit statements) when required
  • Support colleagues for holiday cover and workload peaks
  • Accountable for own development, identifying and raising any learning needs with Senior Administrator
  • Know and live the Corporate values.

Qualifications:

The Requirements
  • Experience of occupational pension scheme administration, specifically DB schemes
  • Recognised Pension Qualifications would be advantageous
  • Able to work to a high level of accuracy
  • Able to work well under pressure and meet targets
  • Interpersonal skills to include good written and verbal communication
  • Customer and quality focused
  • Good team player
  • Able to work on own initiative
  • Computer literate
  • Educated to GCSE standard with minimum pass at C or above for Maths and English, or equivalent.
