Teaching Personnel are recruiting on behalf of a primary school that are looking for an individual with experience working with pupils with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) to start in October 2019 to cover a year long maternity leave. The primary school is one form entry based in Accrington. The successful applicant will work with pupils specifically identified in classes ranging from EYFS - Year 3 on a 1:1 or small group basis. The identified pupils will have varying levels of ability when it comes to the speech and languages so the selected Teaching Assistant will take them for intervention sessions to help improve their communication skills. A candidate who has phonics experience would be beneficial as the majority of the support will take place in Early Years or Key Stage 1.

The ideal candidate will be expected to contribute to a positive learning environment for the pupils and will be expected to deliver pre-planned work to the children but have the ability to adapt the curriculum to make it accessible for the children in line with their educational healthcare plans.
