We are looking for an Additional Support Team Leader to identify and co-ordinate in class support for students with learning difficulties/disabilities; prioritising need when necessary. You will be based at our Crawley Campus working on a full time, permanent basis. In return, you will receive a competitive rate of £26,724 - 29,210 per annum, plus £610 Crawley Weighting allowance per annum.

Key responsibilities of our Additional Support Team Leader:

- Ensure the area continues to respond effectively to the identified and changing learning needs of both existing and potential students

- Work in partnership with Student Tutors and Course Teams to ensure students are appropriately supported

- Observe and deliver developmental feedback to all Learning Assistants and Course Teams

- Act as an advocate for students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities

- Plan, timetable and monitor the delivery of support to students with learning difficulties and disabilities

- Effectively manage the required physical learning resources with regard to budgeting constraints

- Take responsibility for the recruitment of new employees and their induction and development within the team

- Develop and maintain appropriate relationships with external agencies

- Establish and support a cohesive and informed team and co-ordinate and lead relevant team meetings

Our ideal Additional Support Team Leader should have the below skills and experience:

- Education to GCSE standard; grade C or above (or equivalent), specifically including Maths and English

- Degree or equivalent level in a related subject or willingness to obtain

- PTLLS or willingness to obtain

- Experience working in at least one area with people with learning difficulties/disabilities/mental health/behaviours that challenge

- Co-ordinating, motivating and leading a team

- Experience of delivering training in the workplace

- Advocating for young people

- Carrying out lesson observations

- Able to work at either campus where cover is required for sickness or holidays
