Excellent opportunity for and Experienced Digital Design Engineer for a role based in Edinburgh.

Ideal candidate will have a relevant degree along with solid understanding of digital theory, including static timing analysis (STA) and high-speed/low-power design techniques.

The Role

For this position we are looking for a candidate who is passionate about SOC design and ideally with in the field of photonics. A motivated individual with strong communication and team-working skills.
The successful candidate will play an important role in the development of new and existing products. This will involve a broad range of tasks covering the entire spectrum of the digital design flow; from specification to implementation, designing and integrating custom IPs within a wider system architecture including analogue components, embedded microcontroller management, testbench simulation, FPGA and SOC verification.
Specific responsibilities will include HDL and embedded firmware design (C and assembler) and verification at IP and SOC levels, FPGA and SOC synthesis and final evaluation of the design on silicon. The multi-disciplinary nature of the role provides for a broad working experience and ample opportunity for career progression.

Key skills & experience

Relevant degree level qualification Solid understanding of digital theory, including static timing analysis (STA) and high-speed/low-power design techniques.
Competent digital circuit design skills
Proficiency in Verilog HDL/System Verilog, and the C programming language
Cadence HDL simulation (IUS)
Scripting languages (PERL, Python)
Embedded microcontrollers
