A fantastic opportunity for a Maintenance Manager to join Potters Ballotini - a world leading supplier who are absolute specialists in the product they manufacture based in the Durham / West Auckland area.

Client Details

Potters is the world's leading supplier of reflective Glass Beads used in Road Markings. The company, based in Bishop Auckland, manufactures a range of beads, including STARLITEBEAD® high-performance beads with enhanced properties to provide retro-reflectivity in wet night conditions. Innovations consist of a range of Glass Bead Coatings (including AC02, AC07, and AC90) to improve bead performance on the marking, as well as Anti-Skid media to provide the safest Glass Bead blend.


The key responsibilities of the Maintenance Manager include:
  • Overall management of maintenance and the maintenance team on site
  • Maintaining compliance on all equipment and machinery to the highest quality
  • Develop preventative maintenance and inspection programmes
  • Monitoring of maintenance stock levels including critical spares
  • Carrying out repairs to the plant and equipment
  • Driving and improving on targets to ensure the plant and team are operating at optimum levels of efficiency
  • Ensuring safety regulations are followed and maintained in all aspects


The successful Maintenance Manager will:
  • Have strong Multi-Skilled maintenance / engineering skills from both a mechanical and electrical discipline however must be mechanically biased
  • Previous management experience is essential
  • Have strong continuous improvement skills
  • Be driven, motivated, flexible in their approach to work and reliable
  • Have good computer and software skills in order to assist the Plant Manager across all areas including weekly reports, daily toolbox, conference calls and general management
  • PLC and programming experience would be highly desirable
  • Must be hands on
