We are currently recruiting for an experienced Hosting and Storage Engineer to join our busy in-house infrastructure team.

Key Responsibilities / Objectives

To provide technical expertise within the Hosting & Storage Team across supported systems such as on-premise and hosted / cloud data centre infrastructure and servers.

The role requires an individual that is able to work competently across a range of technical areas within the team, ensuring that solutions comply with all relevant Service and Technical standards.

To actively participate in Projects, Problem Management and Change Management initiatives.

To assist the Team Management and the Principle Engineers in the development and implementation of team, departmental and business wide service improvement plans and technical refresh/remediation plans

Planning, scheduling and implementing of all Change Requests through CAB and routine maintenance activities for the team.

To carry out Root Cause Analysis activities for the team.

Effective personal Time Management and Planning to ensure all duties and activities are completed in a timely manner, proactively notifying others of any changes to completion times/dates.

To support Project planning activities, ensuring each project achieves their technical goal.

Review service reports and compare service delivered against SLA's.

Implement technical installations and testing according to design documentation and project planning.

To provide Mentoring for other team members.

To provide Technical documentation to include high and low-level technical designs.

Essential and Desirable Criteria


Proven experience of:

Working within a mature Shared Service or Commercial IT Services operation.
Fault diagnosis across technologies & platforms and experience of rectifying faults within strict SLAs.
Proactive Monitoring and maintenance of internal IT servers, systems and platforms.
Communication both written and verbal.
Technical Designs.
Third line support.
Team Leadership.
Microsoft office and Windows.
Virtualization, cloud technologies and server solutions.
AD and AD Tools.
Scripting languages. (e.g. VBScript, Bash, PowerShell etc)
Hardware firmware updates.
Cyber Essentials Plus
Skype for Business
AntiVirus Management
Backup Technologies (preferably TSM)
Azure Platform
Intune/Blackberry Dynamics Platform Knowledge (Desirable)

Qualifications and Membership


Degree qualified in Computing or related discipline or equivalent professional experience


ITIL Foundation
Prince 2 Foundation
Driving Licence
