The Role:

The role that we are recruiting for is part of our Engineering team and therefore, you will be joining a team of Engineers from a wide range of backgrounds who all want to give something back to the industry.

We're looking for a Training Officer / Assessor - Machinist that will work with Engineering learners from across the North West ensuring that they progress through their apprenticeship qualification as planned. As an Assessor you will hold your own caseload and visit learners approximately every 8-12 weeks depending upon the programme to ensure that they are completing work and gaining the knowledge and skills required through their employer and us as the Apprenticeship provider.

You will be required to support, coach, assess and review learners normally in their own workplaces which means an element of driving within Lancashire will be required. The role of an assessor is to support our Apprentices through their qualification ensuring that they progress in the appropriate amount of time and can use their skills to really add value within the workplace. You don't need to have assessing experience previously as full training, qualifications and support can be provided for this role.

With this role, you will be responsible for the assessment of Intermediate and Advanced Apprenticeships within our engineering programmes with the focus being on machining which will be your area of expertise.

We are looking for someone who is self-motivated and effective team player who possesses excellent communication and organisational skills. A relevant assessing qualification and previous assessing experience is advantageous but not essential as full training will be provided for this role.

Applicants must have completed a recognised Engineering Apprenticeship and a background, with experience in Machining/Mechanical Engineering which is essential.

In return, you will join a team of highly skilled people who truly make a difference to the lives of our Engineering apprentices. You will help Engineers fulfil their potential and develop fantastic relationships with both our apprentices and their employers.

Terms and Conditions:

For this role, you will receive a salary of up to £31,000 and a competitive benefits package. In addition, we believe in providing more than just salary and benefits and we'll give you time and support to develop your career. Our Training Officers continually develop themselves and we're in the process of developing a learning and development strategy with dedicated CPD days to ensure our whole workforce can continually enhance their career.

To give you an idea of our benefits, we firmly believe in having a good work life balance and therefore, they include 27 days annual leave plus bank holidays. This entitlement will increase with over time to 32 days and you are also able to purchase up to 5 days extra per year. In addition to this, from the day you join, you will receive life assurance whilst employed at 4 x your annual salary. Finally, with pensions being an important part of peoples career, following 6 months service you will be entitled to enrol into our Group Private Pension scheme where we will match contributions up to 5%.
