At Mencap we work in partnership with people with a learning disability. We do this by providing high quality, flexible services that support people, including young adults, to live as independently as possible in their own homes and in the community.

Everyone wants a purposeful job - to do something meaningful. At Mencap, we can give you that. You will have opportunities to develop as a person, colleague, leader and activist.

You'll make new friends and feel inspired to reach your potential. We will ask a lot of you - but you'll get back so much more. With us, it is never 'just a job'.

In return for your hard work and passion, we can give you real meaning and purpose in your work.

"Help us to lead fulfilling lives; take part in the activities we enjoy and to feel safe within the community".

We are currently seeking a support worker to join our team in March.

You will be supporting four individuals within one of our residential services. They have all known each other for many years and have built close friendships. Some of the things they enjoy doing are going on outings; shopping trips; and playing board games.

Each individual has varying needs so you will need to be flexible in order to support them. You will be supporting with day to day things like finances; household duties such as cleaning; and to prepare and cook healthy meals.

It is important that you have a good sense of humour;and are unafraid of spontaneity as the individuals you will be supporting love an "on the day adventure".

Flexibility is a must as you will need to be available to work across various shifts to include; days, evenings, weekends and sleep-ins.

If you are looking for a meaningful career and a role where you really can make a difference to people's lives; then this is the role for you.
