Based in Tewkesbury our clients provide wide area networks and hosted telephone systems using the latest technologies. We are recruiting on their behalf for a First Line Network Support Technicians to join the existing team.

This is an opportunity for a technically minded individual to kick start their career in IT. Full training will be provided with on-going support to enable you to progress, develop and become a key member of the team.

This position will involve assisting customers over the phone and on site, diagnosing network faults and pro-actively responding to system-generated alerts. Other duties include configuring network equipment and cloud-based telephone systems.

Previous experience in an IT role is not essential, however the willingness to learn and be part of a team is required. The candidate should be a good communicator and have an enthusiastic approach to new challenges.

Responsibilities will include:

* Providing first level diagnostics over the phone and on site. Including helping users with local issues using tea viewer.

* Proactively responding to system generated alerts

* Configure network equipment and cloud telephone systems

* Updating customer database and liaising with customers

Skills required:

* GCSE grade B or above in Maths and English; 2 x A levels at grade C (one in science or Maths) and Higher Education in Information Technology desirable

* Clear, articulate English speaker with previous customer service experience preferred

* Good IT literacy with knowledge of Microsoft Operating systems

* Familiarity with Linux and networking would be an advantage but not essential

* Organised with the ability to handle multiple tasks

* Able to work in a team and without supervision

* Full UK driving licence;

37.5 hours per week with opportunity to do overtime and earn bonus once training complete.
