Business Development Manager / Home & Field based in Southern England / Permanent / UP TO £50,000+ Benefits + Car Allowance

One Family have an exciting new opening for an experienced Business Development Manager who is knowledgeable and target driven, to join our vibrant team.

The Business Development Manager will take the lead in developing business within your allocated product line. This will entail maintaining relationships and increasing business levels from your existing accounts for Lifetime mortgages, with the expectation that you will manage your time across the products in order to maximise new business levels as agreed.

You will look to prospect and develop new accounts working in conjunction with the Strategic Account Manager and Head of Intermediary sales, recommending courses of action to increase business.

To work to both individual targets and overall national targets as agreed and to manage the risk of business submitted by your accounts.

Key Responsibilities of the Business Development Manager:
  • In conjunction with the Head of Intermediary Sales, you will devise business plans to achieve agreed new business targets for your product lines. This plan will include contact management, risk management, marketing and promotional requirements and opportunities
  • Responsibility for achieving sales targets and risk management in allocated product line working with existing accounts and developing new accounts
  • Be the main contact for agreed business producing accounts (all agreed product lines) and work to drive those relationships forward increasing business levels whilst constantly monitoring the risk of such business
  • Strive to ensure we are seen to excel in our service proposition and become the Go To provider for advisers
  • Lead contact and relationship strategy for each account. You will manage your diary effectively ensuring we maximise contact with our existing accounts and develop new distribution opportunities whilst managing your diary
  • Deliver sales success through superior account management at all times, targeting agreed focus of accounts or identified areas to deliver commercial value.
  • Work with each account to ensure all activities are maximised and within agreed budgets and timelines. Work with the wider business teams, partner's resources, intermediaries and within OneFamily to understand impact and how to leverage to our best advantage
  • Report internal and external management information and use this to information recommend and implement improvements where necessary that positively impact commercial value.

Skills / Experience / Knowledge:
  • Industry knowledge and experience - demonstrates sufficient awareness and understanding of industry trends (Protection/Mortgages/Life Time Mortgages and developments. Is able to interpret the impact of competitor and regulatory actions on our business
  • Strategic thinking & decision making - the ability to see the whole picture as it currently stands but also to envisage the future possibilities
  • Customer focus - you appreciate the impact of your individual actions and collective behaviours in relation to the effect upon the customer of the process, service or product provided. In doing so, you take appropriate action to ensure that the customer experience is positive (or where recognised as negative, takes steps to mitigate further dissatisfaction)

  • Results focus - continuously mindful of the effect of the actions taken and the implications effect of these and how they affect the desired outcome

*Due to the geographical area covered by the Business Development Manager candidates based on the South Coast cannot be considered. Preferred candidates would be able to comfortably service the area of the South/London and some of the Midlands*
