1st Line IT Support Engineer

Based in Rural Cotswolds - Own transport will be required.

We are currently looking to recruit a 1st Line IT Support Engineer, to be based onsite in rural Gloucestershire outside of Cheltenham. A driving licence and a vehicle will be required, as there unlikely to be public transport to site and there will be some travel for desk side assistance, as and when necessary, as part of the job.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with formal IT training and / or work experience of a similar IT support position to progress within the company and have excellent career opportunities within an established and growing business.

The job:

* This 1st Line IT Support Engineer role will provide telephone and desk side support to internal customers, predominately in the office, assisting with software / hardware issues, requests and usage queries.

* The job will involve providing 1st line technical support and hardware support, maintaining a high degree of customer service, fault resolution and service management.

* The successful candidate will need to highlight when internal and external technical support is required, where problems cannot be resolved, liaise with 3rd party suppliers to expedite resolution when needed.

* Provide hardware configuration, support and maintenance, participate in problem management processes and investigations.

* The team are friendly and helpful, working in a very busy environment, to targets and within timescales.

The person: The successful 1st Line IT Support Engineer candidate will have some training or knowledge, and / or experience of the following:-

* Knowledge of networking, Win 10, Office 365, Active Directory, SCCM, Windows Servers.

* Some service management experience would be ideal but relevant IT higher education / training will be taken into account if work experience is lacking.

* Effective problem-solving skills, excellent communication skills and good organisation and prioritisation skills are required of all applicants.

* Some experience of VMWare and / or Citrix would be ideal but full training can be given.

Salary c £20,000 + pa (negotiable dependant on skills and experience) with overtime at time and a half.

Mandatory shift work on a rota earns employees an additional £2,500 per year and additional overtime can be earnt if wanted.

Normal office hours 09.00 - 17.30

Example of the shifts:

1 x Saturday morning shift, based at home, on rota every 6 weeks.

1 x shift 6am - 8pm but the additional hours can be covered at home.

Seasonal cover 6am - 7pm (or later when required) - 5 hours can be worked from home at time and half
