Job Title: MET Technician

Hours: Monday to Friday 08:00 AM to 17:00 PM; every other Saturday 08:00AM to 12:00PM


Our MET Technicians are responsible for the efficient and professional removal of motor vehicle parts so that they may be repaired and painted. MET Technicians are also involved in the refitting of the parts following successful repair/paint completion. Our technicians are responsible for carrying out repairs to damaged vehicles, conducting diagnosis and following relevant instructions on the job cards issued or as instructed by the Bodyshop Manager.


Carry out work to manufacturer / insure / Rye Street Group standards

Removing, safely storing and replacing mechanic, electrical and trim components

Replacing suspension parts

Wheel alignments

Diagnosing simple electrical faults

Removing various parts including doors, handles, bumpers and tailgates

Refitting new/repaired panels

Ensuring the work carried out follows the job card

Collaborating and speaking with Estimators if extra damage is found in a productive and professional way

On occasion supervise trainees / apprentices, sharing knowledge and best practice

Qualifications and Requirements for the role:

Full UK Driver's License

Current or very recent Bodyshop experience as an MET Technician of at least 3 years

Adaptability to new technologies

Be able to work to deadlines whilst maintaining quality

Motivated and enthusiastic

Ability to work on one's own initiative but also as part of a team when required

Good time keeping and organisational management skills

Quality housekeeping


ATA MET Technician or NVQ Level 3

Auto electrical qualifications and experience

Knowledge of computerised alignment systems

Air conditioning certification

Glazing qualification (NVQ or ATA)

Mechanical and suspension knowledge

Flexible approach to working hours

HEV (Hybrid Electric Vehicle) training

Knowledge of BS10125:2014
