Location: Manor Park School
Duration: Permanent Full Time Term Time

Job Purpose
To assist and where necessary deputise for the Head Teacher in the conduct of the affairs of the school to the benefit of the pupils, staff and the community it serves through pursuing objectives and implementing policies set by ACC in accordance with current legislation and within the agreements of the SNCT.

Our school does not operate a traditional departmental approach and successful candidates will be expected to take forward a National Improvement Framework Indicator across the whole school as part of our focus. Experience of leading change, curriculum development and developing leadership at all levels is required. The interview process will also involve a pupil interview, presentation on a key aspect of school improvement and technical questions.

Qualification Requirements

The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:

Full GTC (Scotland) Registration in the relevant sector

PVG membership - children and young people

The post holder is expected to demonstrate:

Teaching ability as an excellent practitioner

Commitment to personal and school development

Up to date knowledge of curricular innovations and good practice in support for pupils

Initiative, extended professionalism and acceptance of responsibility

Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, including health and safety legislation

Strategic thinking

Commitment to equality of opportunity

Responsibilities
The post holder will be expected to:

Provide and promote leadership, good management and strategic direction in areas of work of the school

Promote high expectations and standards through the provision of professional advise, reviewing professional needs and performance and supporting continuous professional development of colleagues

Take responsibility for aspects of curriculum development, learning and teaching and meeting learners' needs

Take responsibility for aspects of improvement planning and quality assurance

Work in partnership with parents, other professionals, agencies and other schools

RELOCATION

An attractive relocation package may be available to the successful candidate if they are required to relocate their primary residence to fulfil this role. Relocation must be within a reasonable commuting distance to the workplace. Currently, the scheme offers a max of £8,000 (inc VAT) paid on a reimbursement basis.
