We are looking for a highly motivated and solutions-focused Financial Accountant P/Q to join our team in Reading.

The role:
  • Assist with preparation of the financial results at entity level and Longleigh Foundation including management accounts, quarterly forecast, annual budget and statutory accounts. This will include providing KPIs and variance analysis in monthly reporting to aid with decision making and drive performance
  • Prepare relevant balance sheet reconciliations to ensure all balances are fully supportable.
  • Prepare reconciliations of various systems interfacing and interacting with Dynamics such as Real Asset's Management system, Purchase ordering processes, Pamwin, iTrent and ActiveH. .
  • Prepare and post relevant financial journals to ensure all transactions are correctly posted and the accounts are financially accurate.
  • Prepare and maintain relevant system logs and control sheets to ensure smooth running of month end and reporting processes.
  • Maintain and regular updates of Purchase ordering processes and RAM databases including ongoing support to users of Purchase ordering processes and ensure sound approval controls are in place and to obtain maximum efficiency in purchase ordering processes and approval of invoices.
  • Work collaboratively with the Finance Business partners to ensure the team as a whole provides an excellent finance business partnering service across the Group. This will include providing support and assistance as required, including producing Group headcount and units reporting and other relevant reports.
  • Actively involved in process and system enhancements to drive efficiency, embrace a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
  • To comply with all relevant policies and procedures to ensure full compliance with standing orders and internal controls.
  • To undertake other duties of a similar level of responsibility, as might from time to time be reasonably required including working flexible and additional hours as may be necessary.

The ideal candidate:
  • Strong analytical skills, communication and presentation skills to influence the decision making process at operational level
  • Good management and financial accounting and reporting skills including up to date knowledge of FRS102.
  • Excellent reconciliation skills
  • Professional accountancy qualification (full or part-qualified) with relevant experience in management and financial reporting.
  • Being a team player, flexible and adaptable to changing business needs
  • Self-motivation, ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
  • Previous knowledge of purchase order systems and other financial systems including fixed assets (desirable)
Appointment to this role will be subject to a satisfactory references and possession of a valid Right to Work document.
