About the role....

As a delivery manager, you will work closely with a product manager and as part of an agile team, to help produce a product or service for our staff, service users or supporters. Your role is to ensure that your product stays true to user needs, maintains a high velocity of delivery, and is managed well according to agile governance principles.

Key responsibilities:

You will:
  • Work closely with your team to ensure everyone is supported and effective in playing their part
  • Be accountable for the performance of the team
  • Identify ways to unblock and facilitate your team on a daily basis
  • Build and maintain teams, ensuring they are motivated, collaborating and working well
  • Identify obstacles and help the team to overcome them
  • Focus the team on what is most important to the delivery of products and services
  • Encourage and facilitate continuous improvement of the delivery team

Successful applicants....
  • Evidence of professional knowledge of project or product management
  • Completion of a delivery manager course, for instance Scrum Master
  • Demonstrable experience in delivering digital products and services
  • Demonstrable experience of using a range of project management methods, including agile
  • Demonstrable experience of projects where you balanced multiple priorities and managed through ambiguity
  • Understanding of 'digital' and transformation programmes
  • Experience of matrix-managing multi-disciplinary teams
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, fast-changing environment

This role can be based in any of Barnardo's regional offices, as outlined in the job description, with regular travel to our digital hub in central London.
