We are currently seeking a Package Engineer (for Flexible Flowlines and Risers) to join a specialist contractor to the Oil & Gas industry on a permanent basis in Newcastle. Our client provides drilling, engineering, procurement and pipeline services to the Oil & Gas sector. They are looking for a Package Engineer to be responsible for engineering, procurement and construction management of flexible flowlines and risers

The selected candidate will have the following responsibilities:
  • Participate and review flexible contractor's design engineering work covering the flexible pipe/riser design and associated ancillary components. (buoyancy, bend stiffeners, bend stiffener connectors, interface hardware and terminations)
  • Ensure adequacy of interface data transfer with FPSO contractor.
  • Monitor progress at site and compare progress with project schedule, reporting any deviations.
  • Generate MIS reports to regularly capture updates on progress of the project
  • Report to highlight potential problems / setbacks / risks that may have impact on cost, quality and schedule
  • At work sites, follow up QA / QC plans for various contractors' and sub-contractors' packages on a regular basis including ITP plans, WPQ / WPS welding logs, testing, MC, preservation to procedures.
  • At work sites, review drawings and monitor manufacturing as per ITP.
  • Monitor and verify hydrostatic testing, electrical continuity testing and other relevant tests during installation.
  • Monitor and verify mechanical completion, pre-commissioning and commissioning at manufacturers yard.
  • Review and approve final documentation for release of equipment
  • Review packing, transportation and preservation procedures for equipment packages.
  • Participate in Weekly, Monthly & Management Review meetings for progress monitoring
  • Facilitate meetings across ONGC officials, contractors, any requisite agencies to resolve issues at all levels

Essential skills, experience and attributes:
  • Degree qualified in engineering / management.
  • Minimum 7 years' project management experience in offshore oil & gas projects.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good organisational skills.
