Job Responsibilities:

Key Accountabilities Impact on Business

* Co-ordinate and deliver WMR Europe requirements across team to comply with all global processes and deadlines.

* Facilitate and adopt best practice through collaborating with our key business partners (e.g. Finance, HR, Quality, Communications)

* Responsible for the delivery and implementation of the communications plans in conjunction with Global Financial Risk COO and relevant Communications team/s

* Monitor cost of Risk delivery services across all areas in WMR and ensure tight financial oversight to achieve the overall WMR Europe financial plan.

* Deliver set performance measurements against operational benchmarking including close monitoring of delivery service SLAs and close liaison with delivery service providers.

* Implement policies and procedures to ensure an effective and efficient approach to business and financial management across area of responsibility.

Customers / Stakeholders

* Build strong relationships, adopting a joined up approach, to execute processes at pace and with minimum conflict

* Ensuring that internal and external regulatory requirements are met

* Ensuring that the business operates using accepted standard methodologies, practices, processes and principles

* Innovation and improvement of methodologies, through adoption of best practice and continued professional development and ensuring these meet required standards and regulations.

* Ensure that all staff and activities comply with existing regulations and auditory requirements.

* Agree responsibilities within formal and informal network, providing context, direction and confidence to deliver results

* Ensure compliance with all relevant internal instructions (FIMs, GSMs, circulars) and external regulatory requirements, including the management of operational risk and adherence to the Group's standards of ethical behaviour.

Major Challenges

* Balancing sometimes conflicting requirements inherent in the complex matrix structure.

* Implementing and managing a uniform approach to operations within the new entity, notwithstanding operating procedures that may already be in operation (within the organization and within departments) and the unique issues, requirements and problems associated with each

* The support of senior executives across the Risk and the wider WMR executive team who may have their own conflicting local pressures.

* Compliance with the organisation's standards, whilst accommodating specific organizational requirements

* Guiding and instructing Risk colleagues on cost controls and delivery standards while assuring quality and adherence to external regulatory standards.

* Manage a diverse and complex Risk compliance environment that is continually altering in scope and focus.

Role Context

* Working within the Risk function, the WMR Europe Senior Business Manager is responsible for defining and implementing a consistent and effective approach to financial and control management for all Risk functional areas within WMR Europe. The scope of responsibilities of this role includes all aspects of business and risk management - Financial, Governance & MI, People, Internal Controls, Communications, Business Administration and Strategy as required.

* This role will require the individual to assume a proactive, collaborative role across the Risk areas and the business partners to ensure the creation and ongoing management of an operationally 'excellent' organisation.

Management of Risk

* The jobholder will ensure that the fair treatment of our customers is at the heart of everything we do, both personally and as an organisation.

* The jobholder will also continually reassess the operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructurings, and the impact of new technology.

* This will be achieved by ensuring all actions take account of the likelihood of operational risk occurring.

* Also by addressing any areas of concern in conjunction with line management and/or the appropriate department.

Observation of Internal Controls

* The jobholder will also adhere to and be able to demonstrate adherence to internal controls. This will be achieved by adherence to all relevant procedures, keeping appropriate records and, where appropriate, by the timely implementation of internal and external audit points, including issues raised by external regulators.

* This will be achieved by adhering to all relevant processes/procedures. Also and when applicable, by ensuring adequate resources are in place and training is provided, fostering a compliance culture and optimising relations with regulators.
