The Role

An opportunity for an ambitious, creative and results-driven individual to join the Marketing team as Marketing Executive.

Ideally you will have 1-2 years Marketing experience or similar transferable skills as the role has a level of administration requiring high attention to detail and accuracy whilst working to strict deadlines. It's an opportunity to be involved in different aspects of Marketing at Verastar.

Working closely with the CEO and Marketing Team you'll be responsible for helping to generate sales to existing customers predominantly by email campaign development, management and implementation. Also PPC and SEO as well as any new prospecting initiatives.

You'll also help in supporting sales conversion with sales support emails and other customer communications.

This role's focus is to generate inbound calls or clickthrough sales enquiries for the sales

teams with weekly targets for sales generated via email and other routes. You will be responsible for weekly campaign set up and reporting on the metrics of all activity.

Key aspects of the role
  • Setting up the email campaigns on our internal Campaign Management system and reporting to the business on email and other marketing performance via our bespoke VISION campaign measurement.
  • This involves strong administration skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail as well as an ability to question figures that do not seem consistent with previous performance. Due to our systems there is a relatively high manual aspect to the role.
  • Ideally the ability to or willingness to learn to design in Mailchimp and then export into our own Email Management system which requires basic HTML skills.
  • Data selection and list management for all proactive sales emails. This is another internal system which requires some manual administrative input. Also an analytical approach with the ability to spot figures or numbers that do not seem correct and question why.
  • You'll work closely with different departments across the business such as sales, legal, MI, commercial and customer services to generate messaging and also distribute email creative for sign off.
  • Weekly reporting on Marketing activity measurement through VISION and also website via Google Analytics
  • Ensuring an updated library of all email campaigns and best performers available for team and business use.
  • Marketing "ownership" of emails with the remit to work with other aspects of the business to ensure 100% customer email capture
  • Ensuring awareness of competitor activity and offers. Proactive or Reactive in suggesting different approaches to cross-sell to our customers
  • Updating website on a regular basis with T&Cs, pricing updates, product updates as well as ensuring all selling messages are reviewed every 3 months, landing pages, webforms
  • Ownership of Marketing telephone numbers and submission forms, ensuring they are set up and directing through to correct sales team and updated correctly on campaign management

The ideal candidate will have strong administration skills with a high level of attention to detail with the focus and tenacity to "make it happen". Some experience of email marketing and analytical skills to report on the success of campaigns preferred. They will be a lateral thinker who does not accept the status quo and can spot additional opportunities to generate sales more effectively.

  • The ideal candidate will have a strong character and be comfortable dealing with people at all levels. They must have a "can do" attitude and be able to think creatively to overcome challenges and drive campaigns forward.
  • Ideally Marketing qualification or other degree with a demonstrable interest in a Marketing career.
