Position: School Premises Assistant - Late Shift
Location: Sevenoaks, Kent
Rate: £17,000 - £18,500
Role: Temporary
Start: September
Duration: 4-6 Months (possible extension)

We are looking for an experienced Premises Assistant to join one of our schools in Sevenoaks. The role will be covering long term sickness on the late shift.

Late Shift Working hours are as follows;

Monday-Friday, 11.30am - 8pm (8 hours, half hour for lunch)

This will be a temporary position starting in September 2019, the duration of the role is expected to last for a minimum of 4 months, but this could well be extended beyond December 2019.

Late shift specific duties

Use of School facilities by hirers
Between 2.45pm and 3.15pm to man the exit/entry barrier for taxi duties
Oversee the use of the school facilities by the hirers to ensure that they keep to the terms of the agreement of hire
Advise events co-ordinator if there are any variations to booked times
Ensure that the facilities for each hire are fit for purpose. i.e. safe, clean, tidy and properly functioning
Ensure that the hirers abide by the schools, safeguarding and health & safety policy
Supervise any emergency evacuation
Ensure pool area, sports hall, changing room & corridors are safe, clean & tidy.
Liaise with event/wedding co-ordinators if necessary
Check on car parking by hirers & ensure that they are not parking where they should not be. Challenge anyone politely if they have parked incorrectly.

Open Sports Hall/Pool for any hirers or boarders & hand them keys where necessary.
Never leave the site whilst hirers remain on site
Deliver duty mobile telephone to IT Room, leave any messages from late shift in the handover book
Liaise with Boarding throughout the evening if necessary and assist if required.
Advise maintenance caretakers of any property maintenance issues if necessary

School Premises - to ensure that the premises are secured at the end of each day

All electrical and gas appliances are switched off (except for fridges and fax machines and IT equipment in the Comms room)
Ensure that gas shot off button is pushed on ALL KITCHENS.
All windows are closed
All lights are off
Before setting any alarms check fire panel to ensure that all zones are enabled.
Lock & set alarm via the keypad in the Medical Room. All staff should be clear by 7pm
Ensure that all fire exit routes are unobstructed.
Ensure all areas are litter free.
Ensure all staff, including cleaners have left before locking area, failure to do so is a breach of building regulations & will cause alarm activation.
All external doors are locked
The burglar alarm is armed
Arm the burglar alarm system for the boarding houses on a Friday evening only
