CDS Recruitment are working with our client who have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Electrical Biased Shift Maintenance Technician to join their team on a permanent basis.

This is a very fast paced environment and would suit a candidate from an FMCG background.

The purpose of the role is to provide a pro-active approach to the prevention of equipment failure and ensuring their schedule PM is carried out as planned.. Ensuring Quality, waste and efficiency targets are met by working as an integral part of the manufacturing team.

Working closely with Production teams you will be required to carry out work under supervision of Lead Engineers and liaise with QA, Logistics and Warehouse as required. You will also be required to ensure that handovers are smooth and efficient whilst sharing relevant information with shift engineers. This should be carried out in the plant. Request/give information from/to Lead Engineer..
Capable of instructing un-skilled/semi-skilled people in simple operations of equipment and set up of machinery (on going).
Use of power tools, drills, grinders, cutting equipment, saws, files, presses.
Use of ladders, steps, walkways.
May have to work with hot equipment using suitable safe systems of work and/or PPE.
Occasionally will be required to operate FLT's to handle parts/equipment.

Primarily based on the shop floor in all production areas and engineering workshop, this role may involve working outside or on roof area, stairwells, ducts, plant rooms, office areas and warehouse.
Occasionally may have to work in confined spaces ensuring permit procedures are adhered to
Essential Requirements:-
Electrical and/ mechanical qualifications/time served apprenticeship.
2 Years experience of working in an automated production environment.
A good standard of both written and oral English
Basic Health & Safety
Data and analytical skills
Computer literate. (word/excel/windows based packages)
Desirable skills :- PLC, pneumatics, hydraulics, temperature control ,instrumentation, welding, FLT license
