JOB ROLE: CNC MILLER- OFFLINE PROGRAMMER
LOCATION: CHELMSFORD

JOB PURPOSE:

To set, program and operate Heidenhain vertical machining centres in a cell on small to medium batch precision components, machining precision parts to customer specifications and within ISO9001:2015 quality standards.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Produce part programs including offline programming with hyperMILL CAM software.
  • Selecting the appropriate tooling for the job.
  • Machining low quantities of precision items in various metals and plastics to tight tolerances
  • Liaising with machine shop staff to ensure that products produced are to the specifications required
  • Ability to run multiple machining centres when required.
  • Perform in process inspection operations.
  • Ability to resolve queries and problems to best of knowledge before escalating up to next level. Ensure minimum occurrence of errors and provide workable solutions
  • Responsible for adhering to health and safety rules and procedures
  • Conducting assigned tasks in a controlled and safe manner, paying particular respect to colleagues and equipment
  • Present a positive attitude at all times and an adaptable approach to problems
  • Possible travel within the UK to other acquisition companies
PERSONAL SKILLS / ATTRIBUTES:

  • Solid mechanical / engineering knowledge with indentured engineering apprenticeship, including the reading of engineering drawings and model requirements
  • Full knowledge and use of all machine shop/tool room equipment
  • Offline programming knowledge advantageous
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, at all levels
  • Numerical and literacy skills
  • Reliable and trustworthy
  • Flexible attitude and approach to work
  • Professional conduct displayed at all times
  • Ability to adhere to tight deadlines
  • Ability to lift safe loads without assistance

SALARY:

Dependent on skills and experience- Will be paid an hourly rate

Hours per week- Monday to Friday- 07.30- 17.00
