About us

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ICT Business Support Officer to join the small team that make up Corporate ICT Services at a time where the Council's dependency on technology and the services of this team are at an all-time high level.

About the role

Reporting to the ICT Technology and Services Manager, the role will provide administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the service. Initially primarily focused on general office support and competently running the Council's internal mobile phone ordering and build processes working with the Council's mobile provider EE, the role offers the right candidate the opportunity to grow into supporting other ICT business functions (e.g. project office support, Freedom of Information responses, contract management support, purchase order raising etc).

About you

The role offers the opportunity to work both as a team player within CICTS and to work under your own initiative once familiar with the required processes. The ideal candidate will have familiarity with normal office administration support processes and have experience in order processing and supplier liaison/management.

Ideally you would also:
  • Have strong customer management skills, have an interest in mobile phone technology and the associated corporate control and management of these devices.
  • Be confident in dealing with customers at all levels of an organisation and have an approachable professional manner
  • Be well organised in their work, especially good in their record keeping and able to own and follow defined processes competently using MS Outlook Email, MS Word and MS Excel, whilst working in a demanding customer environment.

    Our offer

We offer a supportive environment to grow and develop your career with the opportunity to put your ideas across. Innovation and ambition is strongly encouraged, and you'll get a great feel for that working in our friendly and collaborative environment.

A competitive salary alongside a range of benefits including:
  • Generous holiday entitlement - 24 days holiday each year plus bank holidays - rising to 32 days after 10 years' service, with the option to buy additional leave
  • Maternity, adoption, parental and sick pay
  • A wide range of flexible working opportunities
  • Modern working environment at the Civic Offices in the heart of Reading
  • Access to a range of training and learning opportunities to help you develop
  • Local Government Pension Scheme
