Salary: £49,835 - £60,649, we also offer an additional 'DigiTec Allowance' of up to £15,000 (Depending on Skills and Experience).

Job description
We are looking for a Lead Technical Architect to join our Solution Architecture Team to help deliver efficient and smart ways for our users to work. You will work within an innovative Swansea office alongside our development squads and cloud infrastructure team, collaborating and participating in cross-team events and communities.

Roles Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Producing and owning end-to-end Solution Designs for large technical initiatives and highly complex systems
• Working with software teams developing Business services and Front-end applications using modern technologies and techniques e.g. Java, Springboot, Axon framework, Ruby on Rails
• Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with technical and business areas
• Creating and presenting High Level Solution Proposals to senior stakeholders
• Providing Technical Consultancy, Technical Leadership and practical expertise to support, project and business areas
• Mentoring and support of junior team members

About You

You will have a solid software/application engineering background having worked in an architect or technical lead role to deliver enterprise and cloud based software systems.
You will also hold the following skills and experience:

  • Familiarity with data security principles and systems designed to protect sensitive data.
  • Desire to create and maintain solution designs in an iterative and collaborative manner.
  • Ability to think strategically about business, product and technical challenges.
  • Excellent technical skills with the experience to be held accountable for technical aspects of delivering complex solutions, including end-to-end solution design, delivery governance, assurance and support for Engineers and Delivery Managers.
  • Great interpersonal skills allowing you to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders alike.

You will be able to drive discussions with senior leaders across the agency as well as having the technical background that will enable you to easily interact and give guidance to software developers, testers and engineers.

We will also welcome applicants who can get involved with application code, build out proof-of-concepts or experiment with emerging technologies.
