Our Aviation Division is recruiting for an Engineering Lead to join our Winter Resilience Team based at their Heathrow offices.
As Engineering Lead you will have a core role in managing our continuous improvement as part of the Resilience team supporting Dyer and Butler in the provision of high-quality safe and reliable operational solutions.

The Engineering lead is responsible for supporting the business through best utilisation of resource and time, ensuring standards are met through high quality-controlled documentation and processes, supporting our stakeholders with compliance to these processes and procedures at Heathrow Airport.

Working in such a way that promotes our aim of delivering a great service, they will support working safely and efficiently at Dyer and Butler, protecting our people, and our reputation.

Principal Accountabilities

Be capable of fulfilling the roles and responsibilities of an Engineering Lead, including but not limited to:
  • Overall management of a project or section of work including supervision of staff, workforce and sub-contractors, planning and programming, procurement of materials and equipment
  • Areas of specific responsibility include but not limited to are Engineering knowledge, problem solving, process mapping, system development introduction of new processes and designing new or modifying existing ones
  • Supplier and customer liaison, being appraised of industry developments
  • Effective communication and liaison with, staff, workforce, subcontractors and stakeholders
  • Overall management of H&S matters including the production and delivery of RAMS, SOP's, safety inspections, toolbox talks, safety briefings, close call & incident reporting and behavioural safety observations
  • Maintain accurate records including; actions log, all processes and procedures
  • Map and review internal and external processes, identify and prioritise areas of improvement
  • Demonstrate and lead the behaviours required of a team which constantly represents the values of Dyer and Butler
  • Ensure document controls are adhered too at all times
  • Determines priorities for effective delivery of changes and efficiency gains
  • Contributes to the improvement of the quality and delivery of the daily plan by accurately reporting task data, deviations to plan and identifying and channelling improvement opportunities
  • Actively seek ways to improve efficiency and service
  • Support others as required to enhance service and minimise disruption
  • Carries out tasks and roles as required to ensure a stable and efficient service is delivered
  • Support, mentor and guide newcomers to the team
  • Maintain familiarisation with winter fleet and winter operations
  • Determines priorities of need and effective deployment of staff to accomplish results
  • On site audits with contractors to drive a positive health and safety culture and monitor
  • Contributes to the improvement of the quality of all our working processes and procedures
  • Shares knowledge and coaches other team members in order to support improvements in team performance
  • To provide support and advice in resilience to ensure that future operation, maintenance and training can be achieved for optimum service delivery
  • To lead planning mechanisms for schedule activities, supporting efficient resource allocation and risk impact awareness, with a means to feedback on both contractor and supplier performance
About You
We are looking for candidates that:
  • must be highly experienced in process engineering, continuous improvement
  • have demonstrable experience of solution implementation in an operational environment
  • ideally have a broad operational and technical knowledge of commercial aviation
  • have specific experience of health and safety related standards and regulations - typically involving plant operations and or aviation
  • are well versed in the management of varied personnel and understand the strength of delegation when under pressure
  • Full Driving Licence
