We have a new opportunity for a bright, enthusiastic software test analyst to join the Technology team at Yell in the Test and QA function.

The software test analyst will provide manual testing support for technologies across a variety of applications and platforms. Experience in this area is not essential, however a keen interest in technology, a desire to learn and a pro-active and determined approach is important.

The role
  • Create and maintain manual test scripts based on priority and within set timescales
  • Create test plans and processes based on business requirements and team deliverables ensuring appropriate test coverage
  • Take ownership and maintain the manual regression pack, ensuring it is kept up-to-date and complements (rather than duplicates) the automated test suites
  • Conduct exploratory testing, to uncover defects and scenarios that may otherwise be missed
  • Ensure that defects detected during testing are assigned to the development team and tracked
  • Highlight severity and impact of defects raised
  • Understand where automation could be used to reduce manual test effort
  • Understand non-functional requirements (e.g. security, performance, load, privacy, accessibility) and how they can be tested
  • Understand high-level product objectives, detailed user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Work as part of a scrum team in collaboration with Product owners, Developers, UX and other team members
  • Provide manual testing updates to key stakeholders
  • Provide input on QA policies and process improvements
  • Demonstrate initiative in self-development, keeping abreast of new technologies and test tools

  • A strong interest in Software Testing and desire to develop skills in this area

Desirable Skills
  • Experience with business and technology functions
  • Computer science qualification
  • Good understanding of the IT project lifecycle, particularly agile methodologies and the scrum process
