TEL Educational Software Development Manager

If so, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and creative software developer to join the Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) Team at the University of Bath.The post holder, working in collaboration with the TEL Management Team and key stakeholders, will be given the support and encouragement to identify and lead on appropriate educational software development, and to seek out and develop new approaches and tools that have the potential to transform the educational experience at Bath.In addition to a good awareness of how technology can enrich teaching and learning, the ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, including object-orientated programming skills (PHP). They will also demonstrate a commitment and aptitude to learn new programming and technical skills as required (with appropriate support).The post holder's primary role is to lead and manage an Educational Software and Systems Developer, while working closely with the TEL team to support the technical development and maintenance of a robust and resilient virtual environment that underpins the University's teaching practices. This will include, but is not limited to, the support and development of Moodle, which is the University's Virtual Learning Environment.A key part of the role will involve understanding and interpreting user requirements, working effectively with key stakeholders to plan and deliver projects, and reflecting on processes and procedures to ensure continuous improvement.
