I am currently recruiting for a Project Manager within the Renewable Industry. My client, who are based in Buckinghamshire are on the lookout for an experienced Project Manager with experience in the Solar Farms & Battery Storage sector. The company were established in 2017 and operate in 3 markets within the renewable industry which include Telecoms, Solar Farm and Electric Vehicle Charging. This is a newly created role to support the delivery of large-scale EPC Solar farms and Solar & Battery hybrid projects throughout the UK.
Due to the nature of this role the ideal candidate will be located local to the office but should be willing to travel to sites throughout the UK.
Responsibilities for the role of Project Manager:

- Manage a portfolio of projects for GRIDSERVE business, to ensure that all Program, H&S, Commercial, and Quality are met in line with the businesses and project contractual requirements
- Actively manage projects from inception to completion, including program, critical path, deliverables, driving progress against a project plan
- Manage all pre-commencement works required for timely design inputs, including ground investigation, pile tests, resistivity tests, utility surveys, etc.
- Produce and manage Scope of Works, Risk Register/ RAID Log, H&S/ Quality/ Environmental Management Plan and Cash Flow for each project
- Working with Commercial, Engineering & Supply Chain to create an approved list of contractors for a specific project
- Work with Commercial and Supply Chain to analyse all proposals/quotations from approved contractors, consultants and suppliers
- As directed, lead contractual negotiations with sub-contractors, populate sub-contractor agreements and advise Commercial teams on agreed terms of business
- Oversee and manage, as needed project procurement and liaise with site management for deliveries of materials, plant and equipment to site
- Ensure timely and effective communication with clients, contractors, suppliers, utility owners, DNO, Project Team, and Senior Management throughout the project preparation and execution, provide regular updates/reports as required
- Conduct regular site visits and audits to ensure compliance with H&S, Quality and Environmental plans and other site procedures/ requirements
- Manage project completion and acceptance including tests and commissioning for each work activity, snagging list, work completion tests, PAC and handover to the O&M team.

Skills & Qualifications Required for the Role:

- Engineering/Project/Civil management qualification with experience of project managing large scale solar projects
- A proven track record in successfully delivering multi-disciplinary utility scale solar farms; with specific experience in managing DNO activities also very important
- Proficient user of project management tools
- Excellent project planning, change and time management abilities
- Strong knowledge of H&S and Environmental regulations for design and construction, Quality standards and industry best practice
- Mandatory SMSTS qualification or similar
- Experience in utility scale Energy Storage Systems highly desirable
- Experience as an Employers Agent highly desirable
- Professional project management qualification such as the APM's Registered Project Professional (RPP) or chartered status qualification highly desirable
- Experience with managing various stakeholders and sub-contractors
- Self-driven, focused, results and quality oriented
- Strong negotiation skills
- Team player and innovative with sound judgement and solutions driven
- The ability to foster self-motivation to achieve tight deadlines
- Cordial and professional with excellent client facing skills
- Effective communication both verbally and in written form
- Ability to use MS suite of packages at intermediate level or above.

Package Available for the Successful Candidate:

- A Basic Salary up to £55K
- 25 days holiday + bank holidays
- Pension Scheme
- Mileage allowance (45p/mile)
