About the Opportunity
At Studio Retail Limited we are constantly evolving & transforming, and we now an exciting, brand new, opportunity for a Garment Technologist to work across our ladies' wear and children's wear categories.
Reporting to a Senior Garment Technologist, this role will bring technical and commercial knowledge, experience and expertise of home and leisure categories, supporting the buying and merchandising teams maximise trading opportunities.
Who are we looking for?
Due to the growth and ambitions across our Buying & Merchandising function, we're now looking here are Studio Retail are looking for a Garment Technologist with experience of operating within a retail or eCommerce business. This role will be responsible for:
* Ensuring that products are consistent for fit/function, quality, safe and fit for purpose and certifying they meet the customers' expectations.
* Delivering products that adhere to relevant legislation (as applicable) and company policies and requirements.
* Set and regularly review product in line with technical, legal and safety requirements to ensure the product is fit for purpose and meets applicable UK/EU Legislation (where relevant)
* Conduct product risk assessments and manage the remove from sale/ recall process when necessary.
* Through technical research, interpretation of market information and quality benchmarking, contribute to product improvements for the Studio customer.
* Work closely with QC teams (UK & offshore) to set and implement processes to enable the stock to be inspected to the technical standards required.
* Meeting with Buyers to outline product and packaging specifications and requirements. Ensuring the correct packaging specifications are adhered to and liaising with suppliers accordingly if products are delivered incorrectly packaged.
You'll need the following.
* Understand quality standards, manufacturing methods and legislative requirements.
* Previous experience of working with Far East Suppliers/Manufacturers.
* Recent experience across QA disciplines to gain sufficiently wide range of product knowledge.
* Understanding of the product development process within commercial environment to support team members decision making.
* Strong Risk Management Skills.
* Data Savvy.
* Expert knowledge of consumer product safety requirements sufficient to understand and interpret relevant legislation
* Ability to translate complex data into meaningful recommendations and actions,
* Effective negotiating/influencing skills working with internal and external stakeholders to achieve business objectives.
* Excellent Excel and MS Word skills.
