CarShop is a successful, rapidly growing business with over 8 million website visitors and retailing in excess of 50,000 units a year and we get some unusual and interesting technical challenges. We are looking for a highly talented Full-Stack Developer to join our in-house team who are responsible for the design and development of our complete vehicle and customer journey processes, in our new leading edge omnichannel used car retailing platform. You will be working in a fun, dynamic environment and amongst a highly motivated group of people.

You should be proficient in the full development lifecycle utilising C# .Net Core, Node.js and React You should have a proven track record of producing applications that delight your customers and experience in retail would also be a benefit.

Key responsibilities / Duties
  • Work as part of our existing team to develop and evolve our internal business management systems.
  • Take a project from inception through to delivery by being involved in the full software development lifecycle.
  • Take business requirements and build design documents.
  • Support team in resolving technical issues and challenges.

Person Specification
  • A software developer with significant commercial experience.
  • Ideally experienced in a retail / e-commerce environment.

Experienced in:
  • Building high-performance, scalable, enterprise-grade applications in Node.js.
  • Frontend frameworks, preferably React, or Angular, Vue JS, etc.
  • Writing well designed, efficient code with full test coverage.
  • Preparation and production of product releases.
  • Linux command line usage.

  • Full software development lifecycle experience working in an Agile / SCRUM environment.
  • Experience of using CI/CD pipelines.
  • Knowledge of relational databases, PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.
  • Experience in containerisation and orchestration (e.g. Docker and Kubernetes).
  • An understanding of version management, i.e. git
  • A self-motivated individual with a keen eye for the detail and always looking to improve and progress their own knowledge and capabilities.
  • A strong team member and player.
