As a Project Manager, with a strong back ground working with large data sets you will plan, shape, finalise and execute a number of commercial projects. The Project Manager will work with a variety of internal teams including Sales, Customer Services, Internal Systems and Finance to help deliver revenue growth strategies.

The PM will be responsible for initiatives that drive revenue growth in the business. An example of an initiative is launching a new membership package for a new customer type (e.g., online insurance brokers or agency). This will involve the following activities:
  • Fact-finding and collecting input from key stakeholders ('who are these new customers and what do they need?')
  • Defining the new proposition ('what value can we provide them? What should we charge them?')
  • Getting buy-in from stakeholders on the design, as well as other teams responsible for the delivery
  • Organising and leading a cross-functional team across, such as sales, marketing, product development, etc. to deliver the new proposition ('who needs to do what by when to achieve the outcome we want?')
  • Reviewing the performance of this proposition ('did we manage to sell this to the target new customers?')
  • Continuously improving on the proposition over time ('how can we make it better? Can we generate more revenue from it?')

The skills and experience , kind of candidate will have
  • Experience in getting things done and managing the life-cycle of a complex project, from ideation to completion
  • He/she will need to have experience in a commercial/revenue generating environment, as they will need to make frequent revenue decisions. Understanding the revenue impact of those decisions will be key.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are also required, as it's a fairly flat organisational structure. The PM will need to get buy-in from various people in the business to be successful in their initiatives (e.g., if sales team is not bought into the new proposition, they won't be able to sell it)
  • Comfort in working with data is key. While there are analysts on the team, as a pricing team we work frequently with data, and that means the PM will need to be comfortable with navigating large data sets and be numerate. Candidates with a previous analytical background or numerical degree would have a strong advantage.

Examples of ideal candidates:
  • Sales Operation Manager at a large B2B company, with experience in supporting product launch and go-to-market strategy
  • Business Operations Manager at a technology company with experience in using data to drive decisions about which new markets to launch in
  • Revenue manager at a hospitality company with experience in using customer insight to launch new products or implement cost efficiency's
  • Business change manager with experience in driving change programmes with revenue impact
  • Project Manager with the above kind of experience.

You will:
  • Minimum 4 years Project Management experience, ideally in a commercial function
  • Comfortable managing and prioritising multiple projects
  • Superior organisational skills, including attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Ability to think big and small/long and short term
  • Experience with understanding complex data, Excel skills preferred
  • Sense of ownership and responsibility for the work you and the team deliver
  • Passionate and determined
  • Ability to absorb information quickly via an intense on the job training programme
