Teaching and Learning Support Assistant (Secondary School)

We are pleased to be working in partnership with a fully inclusive Secondary School in Haverhill to appoint a highly flexible, self-motivated and reliable Graduate Teaching Assistant to join the school's supportive SEN department.

This will be a varied role where you will be supporting a wide range of children with a variety of needs and disabilities including Autism, ADHD, SEMH and Physical Disabilities.

The school are looking to appoint a confident graduate who has built up a broad range of SEN knowledge whilst being at University. Graduates with previous experience working within a classroom setting or supporting SEN children in other settings, will be of particular interest. An excellent programme of induction into the academy will be provided by the school's supportive and dynamic staff.

Teaching and Learning Support Assistant - Job Specification

You will need to be a graduate with an empathetic nature who believes that all pupils are able to achieve regardless of ability or background. You will be determined to make a positive contribution towards the learning experience of the school's SEN students. The ability to remain calm and confident when under pressure is essential in this role. The ability to be adaptable is another important quality as every day will be different!

About the Teaching and Learning Support Assistant role

You will be working closely alongside the school SENCO and assigned several key students to support throughout your time at the school. The needs of the students is varied and will involve you supporting children with Autism, ADHD, SEMH and Physical Disabilities. You will be working with these students on a 1:1 basis and running small intervention sessions.
