Finance Assistant

Search Accountancy & Finance are currently representing a successful professional services business in Leeds City Centre. This is a fantastic opportunity for somebody who wants to progress and pursue a career within this sector.

Salary: 21K
Position: Temp to Perm
Hours: Full time - Mon-Fri 9-5

Duties & Responsibilities:
* Process and prepare financial and business forms for the purpose of checking account balances, facilitating purchases, etc.
* Perform routine calculations to produce analyses and reports as requested by the Finance Director
* Help oversee and manage individual accounts
* Create, send, and follow up on invoices
* Review and adhere to department budgets
* Collect and enter data for various financial statements
* Review and audit financial statements and reports, ensure all calculations and data entries are correct
* Collect information for and prepare payroll payments for employees
* Assist the Financial Director in creating financial reports on a regular basis
* Adhere to the company's or organisations financials polices and procedures
* Attend finance department and company-wide meetings, sometimes assisting with financial reporting to managers and senior executives
* Suggest changes or improvements to increase accuracy, efficiency and cost reductions
* Matching cash received to expectations set up on the CRM system
* Processing expenses and analysing credit card statements

Skills & Qualifications:
* Work experience as a Finance Assistant, Finance Officer or similar role
* Good knowledge of accounting and book keeping procedures
* Advanced MS Excel skills (creating spreadsheets and using financial functions)
* Familiarity with accounting software (e.g QuickBooks)
* Organizational and time-management skills
* Attention to detail, with the ability to spot numerical errors
* Prior experience of Xero &/or Receipt Bank desirable
* Excellent verbal and written communicational skills with an eye to detail
* Professional telephone manner
