Kingfisher is undergoing a significant transformation to create a unified, unique and leading offer for our customers. The ambition is to become the leading Home Improvement company by creating a simpler, clearer, more affordable, and more consistent customer experience that truly makes home improvement accessible to all.

We are integrating the core operating functions across the countries and Offer & Supply Chain (OSC) has been created as a Group organisation to design, source, plan and supply a unified, unique, and leading range of products to meet the needs of customers across all Operating Companies (OpCos).

We are replacing all core systems with a single, SAP-based system, which will be rolled out across the entire business. We are continuing to invest in our IT for the future - both core systems and digital technology to become best in class.

We have centralised all the ranging, sourcing and buying and are selecting new vendors who can provide unique products across the group. The sourcing is taking a global view, and so we will be managing more of the end-to-end supply chain, with a significant increase in far-sourced product.

Kingfisher group has recently developed within OSC a go-to data source for performance management to give OSC teams access to Group-wide information, ahead of the end state SAP Easier rollout. The solution has been developed with the Kingfisher IT team (KITS), using SAP Business Objects as the user interface. The information is obtained directly from the Markets/OpCos source systems refreshed on a weekly/monthly basis.

The first phase of the tool has been delivered and there is a need now to create a professional governance team to manage the tool effectively, creating a proper structure to coordinate and control the on-going use of the OSC BI system.

The role of the BI Analyst will be to support the BI Manager to conduct governance activities for OSC BI system. You will essentially be a subject matter expert and act as the main point of contact for any system issues, running checks, ensuring data integrity and sponsoring and driving forward the best ways of working across the business.

Whilst it's important that you possess the right technical experience / knowledge it is as equally important that you are a confident communicator and able to reach out to the wider business.

You will be supporting the OSC BI manager to ensure that the governance framework is maintained and executed. You will do this by performing ongoing analysis and evaluation of existing processes with the objective of driving continuous data quality improvements and proper usage of the data and system.

You'll be responsible for developing dashboards and reporting requirements as required to deliver against requirements defined by the business customers and continually supporting the end users for any data/tool related questions.

You'll be essential to keeping data/system governance policies, processes and documentation up to date whilst working closely with KITS (Kingfish IT Services) to address technical data issues; for instance, requiring Change requests for Source system functionality or data patches to correct data issues in OSC BI system.

You will be required to management manage and manipulate complex data sets, in a variety of formats, that feed into BI tools and analysis. Whilst comparing and cleansing data sets to ensure accuracy and preparing and uploading flat data files into corporate database systems.

As part of this integral role, you will need to combine data sets and produce meaningful, actionable insights that drive sales and lower costs; and support the BI Team in defining, developing and testing tools to enable the efficient sharing of BI across functional departments.

About you...

For this you will need to have a good working knowledge of Microsoft SQL & SQL server DB objects (Tables, Views, stored procedures etc.) and knowledge of T-SQL query scripting. With the ability to demonstrate that using these skills can support an existing process and make changes as necessary to maintain a viable and accurate tool.

You will understand how to use reporting and data visualisation tools such as SAP Business Objects, Tableau or Qlik and have the relevant knowledge to support existing reports, amend reports as requested and create new reports per business requirements. A basic understanding of master data governance and data preparation is essential alongside very strong data analytic skills.

Awareness of statistical scripting languages such as R or Python and techniques such as regression and k-means clustering is desirable but not essential. And you will be able to investigate an issue from start to end by carrying out root cause analysis and take necessary steps to resolve the issue

Retail experience is not essential but the ability to work across an international organisation and be comfortable with the different complexities of detail and data that involves (including managing data across different currencies and communicating to a business across different countries).

Becoming part of Kingfisher is a fantastic opportunity, we want to be able to provide our employees with roles that engage them, alongside a competitive benefits package that allows our employees to feel a valued part of our team.

This is your chance to be part of something new. An opportunity to execute great change in a major retailer and an opportunity to be rewarded for your talent.
