We are a small residential home in Swindon. We provide a range of care and support to individuals with learning disabilities, autism, challenging behaviour and complex needs. All our residents are given guidance and opportunity enhancing progression towards their goals and their independence. We are currently recruiting experienced support workers who have the right values and behaviours for this role.
We offer you full support and training to enable you to become an excellent support worker.
In your role as a support worker you will be supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism, challenging behaviour and complex needs. All our residents are given supervision, guidance and opportunity enhancing progression towards their independence.
Your duties will involve:-
1. To be aware of the needs of the individual through their history, background and behaviours.

2. To adhere to management guidelines set out for the individual.

3. To work on an individual basis or as a team member.

5. To participate and support in the tasks of daily living.

6. To be a role model for those within your care.

7. To support the individual when accessing the community.

8. To act in a professional manner at all times.

9. To promote a good standard of hygiene at all times.

10. To feed back relevant up-to-date information to all staff, both on a formal (team meetings) and informal basis (general discussion) to ensure continuity of care.

11. Ensuring that all record keeping, recording charts and individual daily records are completed, and to feedback any problems identified.

12. To assist with the implementation of goal plans and structured activity plans.

13. To use your initiative and common sense.

14. To create a safe environment for all who live, work or visit the unit.

15. To attend training sessions and courses provided.

16. To create a positive learning environment for all within your care.

17. To support your colleagues.

18. To communicate effectively with Service Users, Staff, Visitors and other Health Care Providers.

19. To attend Service User reviews if requested to do so.

20. To attend team meetings.

23. To promote individual education programmes.

24. To treat all within your care with respect, dignity and value.
