The Trade Centre Group are now recruiting a Purchase Ledger Clerk to work at our UK head office in Neath. We are the UK's fastest growing car retailer with 5 trading sites in Neath, Cardiff North, Merthyr Tydfil, Wednesbury and Coventry.We have exciting plans for future growth which will see us double the number of trading sites over the next 5 years.

Hours:

Monday - Friday 9:00 am - 5:30 pm

The Role:

You will be working within the Purchase Ledger team in a busy accounts department with duties including the following:
  • Purchase Ledger processing - matching, batching, and processing of a high volume of invoices
  • Checking VAT treatment and coding
  • Reconciliations of supplier accounts and statements
  • Filing invoices
  • Being the first point of contact for supplier queries - by phone, email and post
  • Proactive resolution of queries, investigate why invoices cannot be processed and liaise with the necessary departments to ensure we meet our prompt payment policy
  • Setting up new vendor accounts & ensuring the accuracy of current vendor details
  • Preparation of payment runs by BACS's and Cheque
  • Ad hoc administration duties as and when required
  • Building & maintaining strong relationships with suppliers
  • Reviewing systems and processes and making improvements where necessary
  • Other accounts function duties as required

Requirements:

Must have proven accounting experience, including purchase ledger.
  • Excellent attention to detail, able to input data quickly and accurately
  • Good communication & team-working skills
  • Self-disciplined and efficient, with a flexible and proactive nature
  • Competency in MS Office/Excel, databases and accounting software
  • Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports
  • Reliable and trustworthy
  • Ability to work to deadlines
  • Experience with invoice scanning software would be an advantage but not essential
