Our Warrington Plant employs over 500 staff and the operation runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We collect from c.5,500 collection points and service 4 postcode areas (W, L, CW and WN), and we handle over 1.1 million parcels every week! We are proud to deliver to approximately one million addresses six days a week and our customers are at the heart of what we do each and every day.

About the role

Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will be responsible for ownership and management across the specified shift, leading a management team of 8 direct reports, and over 200 frontline employees, working to ensure full compliance to the national work plan, and achievement of all key shift targets.

As an inspirational leader, you will motivate your team to achieve the plant's Safety, Customer, Financial, People and World Class Mail scorecard measures, all with a focus on continuous improvement. By holding regular development meetings with staff, you'll identify areas for improvement and implement development plans where required.

About you

We're looking for individuals with a passion for people. You'll provide coaching and advice, while keeping the whole operation running smoothly. Your experience might be within processing or logistics, but your ability to motivate, inspire and lead is what we're looking for. You'll utilise your exceptional time management skills and ability to think on your feet to ensure time-critical deadlines are met in a high pressure environment. With a budget of £6.9 million, you'll have an eye for detail and be confident in efficiently managing resources and budgets - all while ensuring your team is working at its very best.

If you're numerically literate with a logical approach to planning, can communicate effectively to facilitate a team's success, and can operate and inspire within a changing environment, you could be rewarded with a fast paced role in a growth area where diversification of work streams and strategy will be high on the agenda.

Shift patterns:

14:00- 22:12. Monday to Friday (with some flexibility required)

Assessment

If you are shortlisted, the assessment will comprise of the following tasks:
  • Online assessments
  • Case study and presentation exercise (consisting of 75 minutes preparation time, 15 minutes presentation time and 15 minutes Q&A session)
  • Structured Interview (approx. 60 minutes)

Proposed assessment dates - Monday 16th September onwards

As a Royal Manager you will be invited to attend our comprehensive, work and classroom based induction programme. This may require a short period of time staying away from home in the initial weeks of your time in role.
