Electronics manufacturing business seeking a Quality Support Engineer to join their team in Wiltshire

Your new role
To support the Quality Manager through the day to day management of Customer returns and the management of Customer and bespoke material; and support the requirements of the AS9100, ISO 9001, ISO 13485 (Medical Devices) and accreditation's for the Company. They will also support specific, schemes or programs which arise through Customer or market needs of the business.

  • To support the Quality Manager in the management and interfacing of the customer's quality representatives where necessary in liaising directly with them by telephone or email.
  • Identify, and assist the Quality Manager in the reporting of, failures at On-receipt, Production Rejections from SMT, Test, Conventional, Micro Electronics and In line Inspection, and Customer Returns across the business ensuring that duplication and conflicting data is minimised.
  • In conjunction with the Purchasing department, ensure that all reported problems are identified where possible on-receipt fully considered by all necessary parties and appropriate actions are assigned, both internally and externally within the Supply Chain


Within the development and maintenance of the system assume responsibility for the following principle activities:-

  • Support the Operations staff and specifically the Stores team on the management of Goods Inwards inspections including All bespoke material whether it is PCB's, Metalwork or components, conducting Critical sampling where required by the Customer or regulatory Standards.
  • Provide full support to First Article Inspections to meet AS9100 Requirements and to generate, verify and validate the Customer reports.
  • Conduct detailed inspections using a variety of methods including X-rays to identify potential and suspected Counterfeit components and to report any such material to the National Counterfeit Action Group database.
  • Maintain and manage the Customer returns database and the control and management of Customer
  • Perform final Quality Inspection of specific customer product prior to release for despatch (for example for Halliburton or VisionRT,) and monitor subsequent production runs of product returned to perform Risk mitigation and potentially prevent recurrence of non-conformance.
  • Perform assurance inspections of completed Works Order kits, primarily those involving Customer Supplied components.
  • Perform Sample Audits of the Halliburton works orders that are currently in production to ensure that all the relevant documentation is available and that all stages are being correctly booked against the respective work activities.
  • To monitor Calibrated and Life expired items through Random Sampling to ensure that all are within date at the completion of the works order they are being used upon.
  • Through the attendance at the Corrective Action Review board, support the assessment of all potential areas of concern and assist the Senior Management team in identifying and containing business risks, ensuring that appropriate system actions are deployed to prevent further recurrence or other risks occurring to the business at all levels.


What you'll need to succeed
Formal education - Ideally holds IPC level qualifications in electronics engineering or equivalent.
Ideally prepared to hold a CQI or other recognised qualification in Quality Management.
Demonstrable experience in a manufacturing/engineering environment ideally within the electronics Manufacturing Sector.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, data handling and analysis.
Expertise in communication and negotiation
